I'm so tired I can barely type. I had a work karting event today and barely made it after an evetful journey home. Nige got a puncture after a few miles and we discovered that his wheel nut spanner was missing. I managed to use brood's toothbrush to release the wheel, only to find that it was bald. A friendly RAC man and a quick trip to kwik fit followed (now I know why they are called "kwik" and not "quick" - we gave up and went home on the bald tyre). Just made it to the karting event which was only a fraction as enjoyable as yesterdays.

It was an amazing weekend though - loved every minute of it and it was great to meet some of you at last (it will be interesting to see the labeled photo as I didn't know the forum names of many of the people I spoke to.)

Thanks again Jason and SR for putting on such an fantastic event and for your generous hospitality. The amount of effort put into this was clear to see and the organisation was spot-on all weekend.

Sorry if any of that doesn't make sense my brain stopped working a while ago. Will post some photos tomorrow.

Jason - I just realised I can't remember if I confirmed what our plans were for the weekend so just incase I forgot...

Me, nigelpm, brood and pswillies will be coming on Saturday so we'll see you at the track (aiming to get there just after 10am). pswillies is leaving after the karting, the rest of us are staying to drink beer, talk nonsense and pass out (though not necessarily in that order). We'll be bringing a couple of tents but I quite fancy sleeping in that marguee - looks luxurious!

I'll also be bringing a bottle or 2 of my new homebrew (which by the way is completely untested) so if you survive the karting you still have another challange ahead of you!

Team-wise we'd rather be in teams of 3 so we can inflict as much pain on ourselves as possible. We could split into a team of 3 (me, pswillies and nigelpm) and brood is happy to join in another team if someone has a space free (he's pretty handy in a kart). But if it doesn't work out we're happy to be split up in whatever way works.

Looking forward to meeting everyone. Have fun tomorrow and see you at the track. :eclipseeh

LOL!

I like the look of the schedule-almost 6 hours karting with a 15 minute break!

On a practical note how are you doing for space Jason? Shall I bring a tent? And something for lunch on Saturday?

Quote from jasonmatthews :Yeah we worked the format out and there will be individual races in the afternoon. I think it goes something like this - Practice, then mini endurance, then full endurance, then individual races IIRC

Sounds great

Any more thoughts on the format yet Jason? I know you mentioned teams of 3 but will we have some individual races too?

Hey, do you think you could make a Volkswagen VR6 sound for the XFG? I've been trying but I just can't get it. I don't know if you have one yet either, but it'd be great if you do

Here are some samples

nice tracks!!!!!

EXCELLENT! It's really strange - I was just thinking this morning how good it would be if LFS were secretly working on a lazer scanned track of Brands Hatch!!
How long do you think it'll be till it's available? Brands Hatch is such a great track and the only one which i have actually driven on. That might just secure my second year subscription...

Why don't we have our .eng files shared? They would download when you connect to a server, just like the skins do. We could have something similar on LFSW to upload your engine sounds as well, then all the cars wouldn't be the same. And people don't change their engine sounds as often as their skins, so I think the space for saving the files wouldn't be a problem.

Excellent. Glad to hear you got it working. I had forgotten about Outgauge Gateway. Post us some photos when it's finished

Quote from Init.A.D :Nick,

How can i get use 2 Gear Indicators at the same time on 2 diferent paralel ports?

I would make something like this:

Thx!

Nice layout!

I've never tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work in theory but you would need to modify the source code because it would need 2 different start addresses for the two parallel ports and at the moment it is only capable of using one.

That's a shame it would have been nice to meet you. I'll have to check out Maple Town sometime - your bands are hard to keep up with!

+1 for spec Miatas! But the Solstice is actually very similar to the Miata.

+1 for me. It'd be great for getting that perfect look or color.

Ok, it's not necessarily an improvement. It'd just be nice to have. And neither metric nor imperial are inferior or superior to one another, they're just different forms of measurement. People use different systems because it's a comfort issue. I can't imagine in my head how fast 135 km/h is in my head without converting it to imperial.

Also, adding on to the original suggestion, maybe there can be four options under Units, mph, km/h, dual (mph first) and dual (km/h first).

Thunderhead, I like it because it's simple and clean

Every single car in the US, Canada and Mexico (at least) has this. And it has nothing to do with the DDS files, since it's basically just a bunch of text.

Well I don't think size will be an issue, as I conveniently represented here

The placement isn't completely accurate, but I think it gets the point across lol

Very very simple skin. I based it off of this ACR Viper I saw
http://gallery.viperclub.org/data/500/acrwhiteorange.jpg

Available in 1024² and 2048² sizes below and already on LFSW. (Don't change the names or they won't work!)

No need to credit since it's a simple enough skin.

Oh, the stripes are just an old skin that I threw on my car
Which do you like better?

Well, I got a little bored and decided to brush off some of my 'shooping skills and got rid of that stupid little piece of plastic in front of the XF's grill. So, which do you like better? As-is or taken off?
